Seamus Murphy
Seamus Murphy (www.seamusmurphy.com), born in 1959 in Essex (England). He Grew up in Dublin (Ireland). He is based in London. For over two decades, Seamus has worked extensively in the Middle East, Asia, Africa, Latin America. Murphy began photographing Afghanistan in 1994, and this body of work led to the book A Darkness Visible: Afghanistan. His multimedia piece by the same name, created in collaboration with MediaStorm, was nominated for a 2012 Emmy Award and awarded the 2012 Liberty in Media Prize. This year, Murphy has made three recent trips into Syria to document the ongoing conflict and specifically the Syrian opposition network.
