Paul Lowe, born in 1963 in England. He studied history and politics at Cambridge University, graduating in 1986. He went on to photograph many of the major events of the late twentieth century, including the fall of the Berlin Wall, the Romanian revolution, the release of Nelson Mandela, famine and civil war in Somalia and Sudan, genocide in Rwanda and conflict in the former Yugoslavia and Chechnya. Today, Lowe divides his time between Sarajevo and London, and is both photographer and teacher. He is developing an online educational programme for developing-world photographers in conjunction with the World Press Photo Foundation.
