Martin Adler
Martin Adler (www.martinadlerphotography.com), born in Stockholm in 1958. He studied Social Anthropology at the School of Oriental and African Studies in London and became a distinguished photographer, filmmaker and reporter.
In 2001 he won the Amnesty International Media Award for an undercover report on the kidnapping and forced marriage of women in China. He was awarded a prize for investigative journalism at the 2001 New York Film Festival, and in 2004 won the prestigious Rory Peck Award for a television report which exposed abuses by American troops in Iraq.
On the 23rd of June 2006, whilst at work covering a peaceful demonstration in Somalia, he was murdered by an unknown assailant.
