Joseph Michael Lopez
Joseph Michael Lopez, (www.josephmlopez.com) born in 1973 in New York City to a recently emigrated Cuban mother and Puerto Rican father. He studied with Danny Lyon and Bruce Weber. Joseph was a Cinematographer on Weber’s Chop Suey Club, a documentary film that premiered to critical acclaim at the Toronto Film Festival and the Berlin Film Festival in 2001. Joseph recently assisted Mitch Epstein on his American Power project from 2003-2006. Lopez is currently working on a body of work addressing domestic reproductive rights and is holding his first solo exhibition in February of 2008 in New York City where he works and lives.
