The reportage tells the story of Stefano and Laura, husband and wife who are both blind and visually impaired. The images focus on their peaceful home life and their approach to difficulties of every day living.
Giovanni Toccafondi was born in 1988 in Borgo San Lorenzo, Florence. In 2008 he was accepted at the ‘Libera Accademia di Belle Arti’ (L.A.B.A.) in Florence, from where he graduated in 2011 with a degree in ‘Photography’. Mainly focusing on reportage photography, his work also includes intimate portraitures. In 2010 taking part in a voluntary association in the province of Florence enabled him to show through the photographic medium the actual level of social integration for disabled people. During that same period, he traveled to St. Petersburg where he was able to document the university life, architecture and environment.
