Ester Muchawsky-Schnapper > was born in Munich and spent her childhood and youth in Berlin, Frankfurt/M and Brussels before emigrating to Israel. She is curator in the Department of Jewish Ethnography in the Israel Museum, Jerusalem. Her exhibition-catalogues include Les Juifs d’Alsace (Jerusalem 1991) and The Yemenites: Two Thousand Years of Jewish Culture (Jerusalem 2000; Paris 2004).
