The farm doors that Christophe Agou enters on our behalf, open to reveal the faces of men and women who command our respect and give us pause for meditation.
Christophe Agou (www.christopheagou.com) born in France in 1969. Bridging the worlds of documentary and art photography, Agou works in extended series both in color and black and white. His intimate poetic images haunt and intrigue us at the same time and create a layered and intensely rich visual language that triggers thoughts and emotions. He lives in New York.
Through subjects which are hard, frequently morbid and often far from our everyday concerns, these photographers are taking on the primary role of the artist. They are revealing our deepest contradictions and expressing their dreams and the nightmares which we prefer to forget.
