Aniello Barone was born in 1965 and lives in Naples. He graduated in Sociology and, since 1994, has photographed the urban and suburban realities of metropolitan areas, with special focus on the environment, immigration and the peripheries. He is currently working on a series of projects for public and private bodies. He lectures on Sociology of Photography at the Fine Arts Academy of Naples.



When I look at the twenty photographers which make up this Metropolis edition of PRIVATE, it’s not what makes the cities different from each other that strikes me, in fact I’d say that these big cities are very similar to each other, not in their detail, faces, bodies and scenes, but in the variety of emotions which they arouse and which we all experience.
