Antifragile, photo essay by Roberta Pastore

My life has been a long journey. Sometimes I have run, sometimes I have stopped. I have experienced moments of chaos and after each of them I have suffered internal changes. Something similar happens to some elements that surround us, the clouds, the waves of the sea, the earth. The sky. This project is about me.It recounts this evolution of mine through my view of few items that I feel as mine, that are part of this journey and change within it Nothing ever stays still. Like me. Some images belong to places in my neighborhood, the extreme outskirts of my town, between the buildings and the countryside. These are places that I usually attend at particular times, when I find myself living situations that cyclically come into my life. They are familiar places where I can find a sort of peace. There are foggy moments and crisp moments, moments that I need to live in a certain way depending on my mood. And then there are times when I move away from home. The journey, there and back, like a sort of race through time, watched from a train window.Moments of life, stages of a long path that remain etched and indelible. This is my life…

Born in Rome in 1965. Photography is the passion of my life, it has helped me to go through some difficult moments and I have come to consider it as a cure. By the means of photography and of the photographic projects of mine I have started an analysis about the relationship with myself and about the problems one has to face living in our industrialized society. I love the contact with people and with the streets, the possibility to capture meaningful moments of everyday life.
