Jacques-André Boiffard, la parenthèse surréaliste

For its opening, the new photography gallery of the Centre Pompidou is an exhibition devoted to the work of Jacques-André Boiffard, the great surrealist photographer, through a selection of 80 of his photographs. A founding member of La Révolution surréaliste, Breton’s accredited photographer for Nadja, and then Bataille’s for the review Documents, Jacques-André Boiffard is the last great Surrealist photographer who has never featured in a retrospective.
