She dances on Jackson is a lyrical and lilting interaction between landscape and portrait photography, attempting to understand the vastness of the United States and its inhabitants. The approach of the phographer is intimate, allowing viewers a lens into her surroundings and her reflections along the way.
Based in the British seaside town of Folkestone, Vanessa Winship and her husband, fellow photographer George Georgiou, had been based in the Balkans and Turkey for a decade when she won the prestigious 2011 Henri Cartier-Bresson International Award, which funded the long journey around the United States.
