Roberto Boccaccino, Ritdiena, from PRIVATE 48 – Economic inequalities, pp. 36-39
[R]itdiena is a latvian word that means tomorrow. Latvia is suffering the gloomiest economic crisis in Europe. Its foreign debt is increasing and people face unemployment and salary cuts. Ritdiena is a project for Latvia’s new generation. After years of prosperity when the young could look forward to a bright future, the situation is now quite different. People sit and wait, unable to act or even understand what is happening around them. Above all they aren’t responsible. It’s enough just trying to become adults, let alone face an international economic crisis.
