[T]ourists may dream of postcard landscapes, but paradise can be destroyed by the deadly tempests the poor living in the tropics must face. Confronted with the daily struggle for food, water and shelter, one would expect there is little time left for the imagination. But people are caught between the forces of nature and economics and find inner strength.
