Julian Goldswain, People of the Wild Coast, from PRIVATE 36 – AFRIKA
[T]his series was photographed on a trip to Lwandile village, where I stayed for 2 weeks in June 2006. The people of the village live off the land, working as fishermen, farmers, herd-boys and hunter-gatherers. Most are living with AIDS and T.B., and have no access to piped water and electricity.Yet, they are contented people epitomizing South Africans’ adaptability and attitude towards severe challenges.
