DSC_1900avatar1Tommaso Rada (www.tommasorada.com) is an italian photographer based in the north of Portugal. From 2010 he is represented by 4SeePhoto agency. His work has been published in magazine and newspaper such as Financial Time, Der Spiegel, Monocle, Forbes Brazil among others. He collaborated with Unicef Mozambique. In 2012 he won the first prize in the category environment of the Estação Imagem competition, the main Portuguese photojournalist award.

“The Latest” is journey in the lower Portuguese social class, the struggle that 3 millions of Portuguese live every day, the 30% of Portuguese population considered poor.

Rosignano. Italy - August 2013. A view of the Solvay Factory in Rosignano and of the pipeline that transport the materia from and to the factory. The factory was built around the 1940. A local NGO calculate that 90000 tons of toxic wast was released in the sea in front of the factory.

In 1941 in Tuscany nearby a small village named Rosignano, Solvay built a factory for the production of chemical products derived from NaCl.
