Photographers Archives: Marco Pighin

Marco Pighin was born in Italy in 1973 and studied Political Sciences in Bologna University in 1994.

In 2001 he moved to Paris where he broadened his knowledge of photography studying, visiting exhibitions and meeting photographers.

In 2004 he started to travel in East-Europe (Romania, Bulgaria, Hungary, Moldova, Ukraine, Czech Rep., Belorussia, and Georgia) to document the change of Eastern societies; during the same year he was distributed by the French photoagency Wostokpress.

From 2005 to 2007 he worked as personal assistant of the Italian photojournalist Massimo Sciacca.

In 2008 he started to document Vissarion’s community in Central Siberia and in the same year was a cofounder of Possephoto agency in Milan.

In 2010 he decided to move to Russia and start to work on different long term projects about Siberia.

Marco lives in a small wooden house in the heart of Siberian Taiga.

Since may 2011 Marco is represented by Milan based agency Luzphoto and Moscow based agency
