Iva Zimova (www.ivazimova.com), born in Czechoslovakia in 1956. In 1982 she emigrated to Canada, where she studied photography. Iva uses her photography in the service of the persecuted and the forgotten – Indians, gypsies, refugees, orphans, and the deeply impoverished – often in places where others fear to tread. For the last seven years she has been contributing her work to the Czech NGO People in Need. She is currently undertaking an extended documentary project in the Caucasus region.
