Gary KnightGary Knight (www.garyknightphotography.com), born in 1964 in Oakham, Rutland (England). He is a photographer and photojournalist, and a co-founder of VII Photo agency. His entry into photojournalism came in the late 1980s and early 1990s, when he lived in South East Asia, portraying conflict within a region coming to terms with the end of the Cold War. By 1993, he had returned to Europe and was focusing on documenting various forms of injustice, from war crimes to poverty – issues that continue to be the primary focus of his professional life. From 1999 to 2009, Knight was a contract photographer for Newsweek, during which time he photographed the invasion of Iraq, the war in Afghanistan, Darfur, and other significant world events.
