Photographers Archives: Chandan Gomes

Chandan Gomes (contact: photographs for a living. At 23, he became the youngest recipient of the prestigious India Habitat Centre Fellowship for Photography in 2011. Photographs from his awarded essay were a part of the Inaugural Delhi Photo Festival. His first photo book is due for release in late ’12. Hailing from a humble background, Chandan was a scholarship student at both school and college. He has done his Bachelors in Philosophy from St. Stephen’s College, Delhi.

Situated on NH 24, close to the border of Delhi & Ghaziabad, the Ghazipur landfill is Delhi’s oldest wasteland. Spread across an area of over 30 acres, the landfill now stands at a height of about 35-40 metres.
