Cesura presents two new workshops in the its educational program for the Spring of 2013: Mark Power and Dido Fontana.
Mark Power (6th / 7th April 2013)
Cesura is proud to present during the 6th and 7th of April 2013, a two day workshop experience with Magnum photographer Mark Power.
Mark Power joined Magnum Photos in 2002, becoming a full Member in 2007.
He is also Professor of photography at the University of Brighton. This is a rare moment to listen to and learn from an experienced and internationally renowned photographer. Over the course of the two days Mark Power will demonstrate, in a very personal and detailed way, his approach to many of his photographic projects (some well known, others less so) and guide you through the process of each of his decisions. To enrich this process Mark will show some of the photobooks that have inspired and influenced his work, which is less about the single image and more about the visual narrative of sequenced photographs.
Portfolio reviews will be given during the workshop; students work will be looked and commented upon within the group, helping to clarify ideas and enabling the students to empower their photographic thought and practice through collective debate on each persons portfolio.
Dido Fontana (27th / 28th April 2013)
On the weekend of 27th and 28th of April 2013, photographers will have the opportunity to talk and share experiences with the outrageous and anti-fashion photographer Dido Fontana.
His works have been exhibited in art galleries worldwide and he collaborates with numerous magazines and web-zines. In 2007 he won first prize for the Best Photo at the Pitti Immagine Award in Florence.
During the workshop, Dido Fontana will review the student’s images and show his latest projects, discussing the way he works and his approach to photography and fashion.
The model Lucia Sepulcri will join the workshop for a two days shooting session. The shooting will be sponsored by official clothes and accessories trademarks and will be made in the indoors as well as on the outdoors of the green hills nearby our studio.
An opportunity to test your approach to real life fashion commissions and to enrich your fashion portfolio.
