Richard Walker grew up the son of a grazier and today is the Station Manager of the ‘Euroka Station’ 50 kms outside of Deniliquin in southern New South Wales, Australia. After 15 months of worsening drought conditions the Euroka Station paddocks are almost bare, forcing Richard into a daily routine of hand feeding his 10,000 flock of sheep and 230 head of breeders (cattle). During real drought conditions it is important that water is kept up to the livestock and a major priority is the daily checking of the water pumping infrastructure as Euroka Station relies solely on sub-artesian water supplies (Water that is not under pressure needs to be extracted).
